Most of us enjoy a fine meal in an elegant atmosphere. For seven years, the Marion Street Grille has been providing “a Chicago dining experience in Downtown Oak Park.” This lovely bistro is superb, with delicious foods prepared with quality, fresh ingredients, and a courteous and informative staff.
Owner Terry Thulis is proud of his American bistro, which has stood the test of time, celebrating its seventh anniversary in December. Terry treasures his huge repeat business, proof that once you experience the ambience of the Marion Street Grille, you’ll return again and again.
The restaurant is intimate and exquisitely decorated, with beautiful artwork and attention to detail. The bar area has the feel of a private club, and features the best in California wines and other spirits. Terry encourages everyone to stop by after the movies for a light bill of fare that will perfectly cap off a special evening.
The Marion Street Grille has been rated three forks by the Chicago Tribune, and “Excellent” in Zagat’s 2002-2003 Survey “quaint, cozy, and romantic… a Regional American find!”
Marion Street Grille’s chef, Raful, has been with Terry since the opening seven years ago. Terry is generous in his praise for his staff, crediting them with the success of this lovely American restaurant. This speaks volumes for what you will treasure at the Marion Street Grille.
The menu has been carefully designed to suit the taste of every diner. For an appetizer, try the Maryland Blue Crab Cakes on a bed of greens with citrus aioli, or shrimp Creole in spicy tomato sauce with warm rosemary biscuits. These appetizers are out of this world, and can be the prelude to your dinner, or an evening snack.
For an entrée, sample the Rainbow Trout Amandine, baked in brown butter, with roasted rosemary potato and fresh vegetables. Or how about the Grilled Breast of Duck, with orange cassis glaze, roasted vegetable tortilla and bourbon mashed sweet potatoes?
The House Specials change regularly, and are always outstanding. On a recent visit, the special appetizer was blackened shrimp and andouille sausage, served over jambalaya rice with citrus aioli. The Salmon au Poivre was served with roasted red pepper sauce, rosemary potatoes and sautéed vegetables.
