Ambiance and Great Food Draw a Crowd to Marion Street Grille |

| When more than 100 people visit a restaurant before it even opens, you know the future holds nothing but success. That’s exactly the story behind Marion Street Grille at 189 N. Marion St., which officially opened December 7. But two weeks before opening its doors for business, the restaurant’s proprietors held an open house to introduce Marion Street Grille to the community. "The open house went extremely well. The response was exactly what we were looking for," says Terry Thulis, president and owner of the restaurant. "It’s like that baseball movie says, ‘If you build it, they will come.’" What they’ve built is what Thulis calls "the only restaurant north of Lake Street. "Marion Street Grille is a warm and casual gathering place," he says. With exposed brick walls and the original tin ceilings, the restaurant is a study in "understated elegance." But hungry diners aren’t only interested in the restaurant’s atmosphere. Serving the "high end" of the dining-out market, the menu features steaks, chops, pastas and even frog’s legs. Rounding it all out is "a very talented kitchen staff," Thulis says. The kitchen staff is supported by an energetic, courteous and knowledgeable serving staff. We have all the tools necessary for operating a successful restaurant in Oak Park," Thulis concludes. "From a cozy room to a very talented staff, I think Oak Park and River Forest are ready for what we have to offer." |
